There’s a free clinic at the SageNet center this weekend for anyone who needs a variety of medical services.

People who come to the clinic can get dental and vision work, HIV and STD testing, a well-women’s exam, and much more and it’s all free to patients.

Clarene Mitchell was a patient at Saturday's clinic. She just moved to Tulsa and needed dental work. She heard that the clinic was coming to Tulsa this weekend and decided to check it out.

"I had some teeth extractions done and then some women's health screenings," Mitchell said.

Mitchell says she’s thankful for the free clinic.

"So grateful, so grateful. I've been needing some dental care, some dental services for quite a while, so I was able to come take care of some things," Mitchell said.

The OSU Center for Health Sciences is partnering with Remote Area Medical for the free clinic. RAM's goal is to provide access to health care for anyone who needs it or in some cases, may not receive certain kinds of care because they don't have insurance that covers specific services.

Clinic coordinator Brad Hutchins says dental work is typically the number one requested service.

"That consists of free cleanings, fillings, and extractions for our patients,” Hutchins said.

He says the vision is usually the second-most needed service.

"For medical we offer primary care services, general medicine. In addition to that we have women's health and HIV and STD testing on-site," Hutchins said.

Patients can get glasses prescriptions and get a free pair on-site to take home.

"This is just phenomenal, truly phenomenal all the resources," Mitchell said.

The doors to the clinic at the SageNet Center reopen at 6 a.m. Sunday.

Everything is on a first-come-first-served basis.
